Day 204: Fishing For Salmon on the Puyallup River, Puyallup, WA

Have you seen the crowds of people on the Puyallup River? Well if that’s not enough of a clue…the Salmon are in!

Head down to the Puyallup River, rub shoulders with the person next to you and have your chance to catch some Pinks!

Each “odd” year, the Pink (Humpy) Salmon visit the local rivers to spawn. In 2011 there are an estimated 6.5 million salmon making their runs in Washington State rivers. In Puyallup alone we should see about 900,000 Pink Salmon and 54,000 Coho Salmon head up the river (WOW!).

So go grab your fishing gear, get your fishing license and head down to the river. This is definitly an event you dont want to miss!

Day 203: Doubleheader Outdoor Cinema Series, Puyallup, WA

We have another doubleheader weekend for the Outdoor Cinema Series! One movie will be playing at Foursquare Church (Silver Creek – South Hill) TONIGHT (08/26) from 7:00p – 10:00p and the other is playing at Bradley Lake Park tomorrow (08/27) and will begin at dusk.

Bring your blanket, chairs and get set to have some great outdoor fun!

Also, concessions will be sold.

Movie #2 (Bradley Lake Park) – Toy Story 3 (Tomorrow Night 8/27)

Movie Details: The toys are mistakenly delivered to a day-care center instead of the attic right before Andy leaves for college, and it’s up to Woody to convince the other toys that they weren’t abandoned and to return home.

Day 202: Concerts In The Park, Puyallup, WA

The last “Concert In The Park” series of the Summer is taking place this Thursday, August 25th at Puyallup Pioneer Park from 6:30p – 8:30p.

Day 201: Pierce County Movie In the Park, Tacoma, WA

Here is another great movie in the park happening tonight at Sprinker Recreation Center (Tacoma).

Grab a blanket and your favorite lawn chair for a movie under the stars. You can view the movie on their HUGE jumbo screen!

Admission is FREE and the movies will start at dusk (shortly after 9 p.m.).

Day 199: Pierce County’s `Minute to Win It` Games, Puyallup, WA

Participate in Pierce County’s version of the popular television game show ‘Minute to Win It’ this Tuesday (08/16) from 2:00p – 4:00p at Meridian Habitat Park on South Hill, Puyallup.

(register early to let them know you want to attend. The last event was cancelled because not enough people registered!)

Pierce County Parks and Recreation will have it’s own spin on your favorite games.

For all ages
Fee: (support your park and recreation department to have more fun events!)

  • $7/person
  • $25/family of 4

For those who have not seen the show, each game lasts 1 minute. Games include puzzles, buildings, and silly challenges.

The event is for children and families of all abilities. Come ready to play in comfortable clothes to test your skills against other kids and families!
