Day 182: Junk In Trunk Sale, Tacoma, WA

Huge local trunk sale happening at Sprinker Recreation Center! See below for all the details.

What Is It?

This is a new twist on the old garage sale. Load up your trunk and sell your ‘stuff’ from the back of your vehicle.

You bring the ‘junk’ and they will bring the people! Just drive up and sell on Saturday July 9, July 30, and August 20 at Sprinker Recreation Center.

Cost?

Buyers: FREE ADMISSION!!

Sellers: Spots for sellers are limited to the number of parking spaces available. Reserve your spot now. Vendor fee is:

$15 per car/truck/van
$25 per RV/Camper

Junk In Trunk Vendors will be assigned one slot to park and one to set up sales.

  • July 9 Sale – Registration deadline is June 30th (TODAY!)
  • July 30 Sale – Registration deadline is July 22
  • August 20 Sale – Registration deadline is August 12

Day 181: Sketching, Not Texting: Plein Air Art @ the Library, Puyallup, WA

Looking for a great way to kick off the summer season? The Puyallup Public Library is hosting an “open air” art workshop this Wednesday (06/29) from 3:00p – 5:00p.

When you have a sketchbook in hand, you always have something to do. Stuck in a line? Bored in class? Pull out your sketchbook instead of texting! Learn how to look at the world around you and find art in the everyday.

No art experience required to make great sketches – supplies will be provided. Please sign up ahead of time AT the Puyallup Public Library.

Day 180: 2011 Puyallup Meeker Days Festival, Puyallup, WA

This Friday (17th) thru Sunday (19th) is Pierce Counties largest street festival happening here in downtown Puyallup.

The 2011 Puyallup Meeker Days Festival features four live entertainment stages, two food courts, nearly 200 craft, commercial and non-profit vendors and lots of fun for the entire family.

Day 179: Discover Puyallup’s History! Visit the Library’s History Room, Puyallup, WA

This Monday (June 13th) from 5:30p – 7:30p you can discover Puyallup’s rich history!

The Puyallup Public Library is starting a program that will open the library’s History Room archive to the public on a monthly basis.

Volunteers will be available as guides to the photograph collection, past City Directories, Puyallup High School yearbooks and a wide range of other materials that have historical significance to the community. Materials are available that date back to the early 1900s! The Library plans to have the archive open to the public at least once per month through the end of the 2012.

Day 178: Puyallup Police Department Auction, Puyallup, WA

The Puyallup Police Department is sending all their unclaimed property to the Taylor Auction (215 S. 84th St. Tacoma, WA 98444).

The auction will take place this weekend (Saturday – 6/4). Not sure about what time so if you are interested call Taylors Auction at 253-548-8800.

Day 177: Kids’ Fishing Derby, Puyallup, WA

All kids 12 and under are invited to the annual fishing derby at Bradley Lake and may even win a special prize! Make sure your kid’s bring their own rod and tackle. (Parents are encouraged to help their children!)

Registration begins at 6:30 am the day of the event. The cost is only $3.00 per child (cash-only)

*Note: Bradley Lake will be closed to adults for fishing May 14 – June 4.
