Day 169: Making Music, Puyallup, WA

Kids love music, right! In fact my 2 nephew’s both received musical instruments for the majority of their Christmas gifts this year…lots of noise this last Christmas ;).

At the Puyallup Public Library this Saturday (11:00a – 11:45a) you can enjoy a musical story time! During this story time the kids will get to make a musical instrument to take home…awesome!

This will be a whole lot of fun for everyone! Its a FREE event and No registration needed!

Day 168: Game Bag Rentals, Puyallup, WA

Are you as excited about the changing seasons that are fast approaching. Today especially we wake up to beautiful weather and get a glimpse of Spring / Summer! When the weather gets nice, its fun to go to the park and have a picnic with friends and family. But what are you going to do when you get there?

Pierce County Parks and Recreation has Game Bag Rentals available! Choose from 5 different game bag options:

  • Bag #1 PiffleBall – $15/day
    A fun twist on the game of whiffleball. Bag includes pickleball rackets, whiffleballs, bases and bag.
  • Bag #2 Volleyball – $15/day
    Bag includes portable volleyball standards, net, and two volleyballs.
  • Bag #3 Parachute – $15/day
    Bag includes a 24 foot parachute, 6 game balls, and activity guide.
  • Bag #4 Kickball – $15/day
    Bag includes bases, playground balls, rules and bag.
  • Bag #5 Old Fashioned Picnic Pack – $25/day
    Bag includes an old fashioned Picnic Pack which includes a 75 foot tug-o-war rope, potato sacks, flying disks, and cones.

A $50 damage deposit is required.

To make a game bag reservation is easy:

  • Complete and sign the Game Bag Rental Form
  • Call the Parks Administration office at (253) 798-4176.

Day 167: Frontier Park Yard Sale, Graham, WA

I love the Spring and Summer months. The sun, vacations, activities…it’s all great, but one of my favorite things are the Yard Sales!

This Saturday March 26th from 9:00a – 3:00p come down to the Frontier Park in Graham to shop a citywide Yard Sale.

The best thing about yard sales is you never know what cool things you will find. There’s always something you need and a lot of things you don’t need…but still buy 🙂

Day 166: Celtic Faire, Puyallup, WA

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day come down to Downtown Puyallup and the Pioneer Park this Saturday (3/19) from 10:00a – 4:00p for a lively celebration that is sponsored by the Puyallup Main Street Association.

Bring your pet and join in the Celtic Dog Parade and other pet-related activities!

Also, members of Scottish and Welsh clans will be on hand with story-telling and genealogy and tons of other events all day!

Make sure to bring the kids for games and other activities.

But for the adults, a Pub Crawl hosted by local downtown restaurants and bars will be available. 🙂

Day 165: Children’s Storytime, Puyallup, WA

Kids love storytime, all the adventures and fantasy…what’s not to love. But hey, it can be educational too!

If you have kids between the ages of 1 – 5, then bring them down to the Puyallup Public Library every Friday for Preschool Storytime and Toddler Treasures Storytime.

Preschool Storytime: 10:00a – 11:00a

For ages 3 to 5 years old. Join children’s librarian Miss Bonnie for early literacy fun with stories, activities and music to help children develop pre-reading skills and prepare them for reading success. Lots of wiggling and giggling guaranteed.

Toddler Treasures Storytime: 11:15a – 11:45a

For ages 1 to 3 years old. Join children’s librarian Miss Carol for stories, songs and rhymes chosen to enhance the early learning development of younger children.

Day 164: Yellow House Yarns, Puyallup, WA

I’m definitely not the best person out there for styles (lol!) but is it just me or is Knitting coming back (or did it ever leave)?

If you have always wanted to learn how to Knit then come to the Yellow House Yarns in downtown Puyallup (across from McDonald’s) on Saturday from 10:00a – 12:00p for their beginners classes.

Or if you have been knitting for awhile and just want to hang out with like minded people, you can stop by on Thursday evening from 5:00p – 9:00p for their Open Knitting Group.

Day 163: Saturday Films: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (PG), Puyallup, WA

This Saturday (March 12th) at 2:00p, the Puyallup Public Library will be presenting the movie Dirty Rotten Scoundrels for their Saturday Films!

The movie will be playing in the South Meeting Room and is completely free!

Two con men, one a crass American, the other a debonair European, meet on a train in Europe and their hilarious rivalry creates havoc as they travel to the French Riviera.
