Day 106: Golf Tournament benefiting the Puyallup Valley Food Bank, Puyallup, WA

Volunteers and sponsors are being sought for the 11th annual golf tournament benefiting the Puyallup Valley Food Bank.

The golf tournament will be held September 25th at Brookdale Golf Course. Putting contest starts at 11:30 a.m.

The Puyallup Valley Food Bank serves between 300-350 families a month or 1,000 to 1,3000 people.

Sponsorships will be accepted in any amount, including any kind of prizes.

Day 105: Last Concert of the Summer, Puyallup, WA

Well this is it…this Thursday (August 26th) from 6:30 – 8:30 will be Puyallup’s final Concert in the Park for the Summer.

Make sure to bring the family down for this final kick off of the summer concert series.

The preformance will be played at the Puyallup Pioneer Park (see the map below)

Preforming will be:

Afrodisiacs(Kings of Disco)
Doublewide(Current Country Hits)

Show Puyallup your support of their concert series…I know I have enjoyed them.

Day 103: Last Blast of Summer Carnival, Puyallup, WA

Don’t miss this last blast of summer!

Come to the Pioneer Park in downtown Puyallup, tomorrow (Wednesday 8/25) from 1:00 – 4:00.

Come enjoy the clowns, cotton candy, snow cones, a giant slide and games of skill and chance.

Tickets are $.25 each and activities and food may take multiple tickets.

This event is for kids ages 12 and under.

Day 103: Movie in the Park, Puyallup, WA

Pierce County Parks and Recreation is sponsoring a Movie in the Park on August 20th at Heritage Recreation Center (9010 128th St. E. Field A; behind Rogers High School).

They will be showing “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” (great movie…very funny :)). This event is free to everyone!

The movie will start at dusk!

Preshow games, music, and activities will begin at 7:00.

For those interested, the Flying Tomato is catering an all you can eat spaghetti, salad, bread stick dinner & drink for $6.

Day 102: Boats Afloat with the Pacific Science Center, Puyallup, WA

What makes a boat float? How do weight, size and shape affect buoyancy?

Test the buoyancy of several objects at the Puyallup Public Library this Friday (8/20) from 3:15 – 4:15, then put your creativity to work as you design and build your own ship out of clay.

On to sea trials…will your boat float? Now can you rebuild your boat to make it carry cargo?

Presented by the Pacific Science Center. This session is for grades 3 and up.

Day 101: Make Waves @ Puyallup Public Library, Puyallup, WA

It’s a beach bash to end the summer at the Puyallup Public Library this Wednesday from 3:00p – 5:00p!

They’ll have snacks and drinks, including s’mores and smoothies from Forza (NICE :))!

But remember, it’s not always safe to go into the water…

“Ba-Bum, Ba-Bum, Ba-Bum”…(sound it out :)) They are going to be watching the classic horror movie, Jaws (PG) and giving away some special prizes!

Should be a great time! Don’t miss it!!!

Day 100: Pierce County Fair, Puyallup, WA

Ok, I know this is not right in Puyallup…but its pretty close.

The Pierce County Fair Association will celebrate the 63rd annual Pierce County Fair this August 12-15, 2010 at beautiful Frontier Park in Graham.

Come down to the fair for their yearly celebration of rural life, agriculture and good ol’ family values.

The Pierce County Fair is nestled among the giant firs and green grass of beautiful Frontier Park.
