Day 38: Free Comic Book Day, Puyallup, WA

Free Comic Book Day is happening at the Puyallup Public Library on 324 S Meridian this Saturday May 1st at 10:00 am.

The name says it all, this is a day when comic book stores and libraries around the world give away comics to people of all ages.

At the Puyallup Library, they will be giving out comic books in front of the library from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM. You may score an issue of Iron Man, Archie, The Tick, or Sonic the Hedgehog, and many others.

While you’re at it, why not put your feet up and enjoy some comics-inspired movies? Throughout the day, the Library will be showing some of your favorite heroes on the big screen.

Movie Showtimes:

  • 10:30 AM – The Cat Returns (2002) – Rated G
  • 12:40 PM – Flash Gordon (1980) – Rated PG
  • 2:30 PM – Iron Man (2008) – Rated PG-13

Day 37: Superhero Lunch, Puyallup, WA

Come down to the Puyallup Activity Center on 210 West Pioneer and bring your children to meet all their favorite superheroes.

The lunch will offer kid friendly foods, a superhero activity, and time to take pictures in the comic book surroundings.

Let the kids know that all their favorite superheroes will be taking time out of their crime fighting duties to come meet all participants who attend this event :).

Also, feel free to dress up as your favorite superhero and show off your superhero powers as you eat a great meal.

Space is limited and pre-registration is required so call (253) 841-5457.

Cost is $10.00 for adults and $8.00 for ages 2 and up.

Should be a fun event.

Day 36: Puyallup Farmers Market, Puyallup, WA

The Puyallup Farmers’ Market is back! Happening each Saturday from May thru October 9:00 am to 2:00 pm and Sundays from May thru August also from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

The farmers market is packed with locally-grown fresh produce, organics, seafood, flowers, fresh baked goods, crafty gifts, delicious foods and more.

This is the largest farmers’ market in Pierce County and is located in downtown Puyallup’s Pioneer Park and Pavilion which is cool because it allows them to operate rain or shine!

Don’t miss the opening day this Saturday May 1st!

Day 35: Sushi World, Puyallup, WA

If your looking for some good Sushi, the Sushi World in downtown Puyallup on River Rd (right across the street from the car lots) is the place to go.

I have to confess…I’m not a fan of Sushi, we’ll then again I have never really tried a good Sushi place…but I have heard about this place from word of mouth and the reviews online have been incredible.

So if you get a chance, come down and check it out and let me know how it is. I may change my mind and give it a try.

Day 34: Grayland Park, Puyallup, WA

Grayland park is a semi hidden park in downtown Puyallup and has tons of fun things for the little ones to do.

Its a decent sized neighborhood park, coming in around three-acres and is located adjacent to the Memorial Center right in downtown Puyallup on meridian (next to the Casa Mia Italian Restaurant).

The park includes a playground, picnic area, restrooms and even a wading pool in the summer.

Day 33: Puyallup Riverwalk Trail, Puyallup, WA

Puyallup’s Riverwalk Trail is approximately 5 miles from the westerly city limit (it starts further down around 78th Ave E on River Rd…but also has a great entrance off 11th St NW) and ends at the East Main bridge behind Mama Stortini’s Restaurant close to Sumner.

The trail runs along the Puyallup River except for about one mile where existing sidewalks serve as the trail. Phase I of the trail was dedicated in 1998; Phase II in 2006, and Phase III in 2007.

The City is planning for Phase IV which will connect with Pierce County’s Foothills Trail at the trailhead on east 80th St.

Once the connection is made, trail users will be able to enjoy a great regional trail system that connects to Mt. Rainier National Park, into the city of Sumner and north to Tukwila on the Interurban Trail.

Day 32: Trackside Pizza, Puyallup, WA

Trackside Pizza is a great place to bring the family and enjoy some great pizza. Located at 201 N. Meridian St. in downtown Puyallup.

They have a fun and friendly environment with some great things for the kids to do…specifically, the “Pie Up” pizza. This is where kids can make their own pizza.

Trackside brings all the stuff and you can put it all together however you like. Then you have the kids yell “Pie up” and they come grab your pizza and cook it for you…its a lot of fun!

Trackside is open 11 to 10 daily. On Monday and Tuesday you can order 2 Large, 2 Topping pizza’s for only $28!
