Ok, now im getting a little nervous. For awhile I was thinking…”Oh yeah, they will definitely extend the tax credit for 1st time homebuyers…”, then my attitude changed to “Well, I would hope  they would extend the tax credit for 1st time homebuyers…”. Now, I’m not so sure.

You know, I have a special place in my heart for short sales. Don’t get me wrong, there really great (for the buyers…) but I cant stand working with the banks. Seriously, is it only me or is there something wrong when I’m doing everything in my power to fund the loan immediately, but the bank puts up so many road blocks, it makes it all but impossible to get the thing closed on time.

Seriously, on this most recent loan we were almost 3 weeks into an approved purchase and sale before we even knew who our escrow and title would be with. When you only have 30 – 45 days to get the loan done…that really puts the delay on. Then at the end of the transaction we are ready to close and “fund” the loan and the bank says “sorry…we cant close for another 3 days because we need to mail this certain document”. AGGGGGG.

Word of the wise for all clients out there dealing with the banks, “prepare for 30 – 60 days of absolute headache with a lifetime of loving the fact that you got a good deal”!
